What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?
There were plenty of things I promised myself in the past, and half of them followed through. When I first started analyzing college football information while I was in college, I looked at future schedules for Oklahoma (my favorite school). I found out that they scheduled UCLA for the 2019 season at the Rose Bowl stadium (UCLA’s location). I told my mom that her, my grandma, and I will be at the game in 2019 and I’ll buy the tickets. Once it got to that year, I had enough saved up to buy my mom and I tickets. Unfortunately, my grandma couldn’t go because of her knees affecting her walking long distances and sitting for long periods of time. But I followed through on my promise to mom and was able to attend the game.
It was fun and it was my very first time being in a Rose Bowl stadium. It was beautiful. The sites, the scenery, the fans tailgating, and seeing the inside and outside of the stadium was all spectacular. Whenever I say I’m doing something whether it’s for someone or for myself, I commit no matter how impossible it is. I’m glad I afforded those tickets for mom and I to attend an actual game together. Hopefully, we and my siblings can do this together in the near future for an NFL game, FIFA World Cup, or even an NBA game. If my dad was still alive, I would’ve made sure we went to a game together.
