WEEK 10 CFB POWER RANKINGS

What’s up everyone! We enter November with a conclusion of about 20 or so upsets in one month of October, including 4 teams that were ranked in the Top 2 that succumb to upsets. Five Saturdays in October gave plenty of opportunity for smoke to encompass the nation.

Welcome to November of college football. This is a serious month where everything’s on the line from qualifying for the conference championship to bidding for a CFP spot prior to December. Everything’s on the line and the margin-of-error for some teams remaining are slim-to-zilch. Even if three undefeated teams remain, it doesn’t mean it’s fully guaranteed. Last season, Georgia Tech and BYU entered November undefeated before Georgia Tech faltered with three losses in the last four weeks while BYU got slaughtered by Texas Tech twice and were left out of the Top 12 completely. Back in the annual 12-team playoff season, Arizona State was the only unranked team to enter November and qualify for the CFP after stealing the Big 12 title from Iowa State. The ACC nearly imploded on itself to where two Group of 6 made CFP appearances while Miami was an At-Large ACC team in the CFP. They still got National Championship runner-up after all of it. Anything is possible in November, but again, the margin-of-error to make the conference championship and the CFP is slim-to-zilch thanks to the chaos this season.

I’m beginning my weekly CFP scenario videos this month, so be on the lookout for them. I’ll do my best to clips on my front page. Until then, have a great day y’all!!!

12) BOISE STATE (7-1) [G6]

Boise State continues running through their new conference, but it was a bit dicey. Most importantly, they’re down a quarterback in Maddux Madsen. However, longtime backup quarterback Max Cutforth maintained the offense’s consistency with a comeback and defeating Texas State. Questions will come if Madsen returns from injury, but Cutforth has experienced which serves well for the Broncos.

11) TEXAS (6-2)

Texas topples a short-handed Mississippi State team without Kamario Taylor. Now, they’re back on the road for a pretty tricky matchup against a lethal backfield in Missouri to kick off elimination November in the SEC.

10) ALABAMA (6-2)

BYE

9) NOTRE DAME (7-1)

Notre Dame peeked ahead to Miami which led to first half struggles against Navy. They eventually looked at Navy and blew the doors off in the second half. It doesn’t matter who’s the starting running back because every ball carrier out there carried over 200 yards. Now, they ready for a cataclysmic clash of the ages at home against Miami.

8) BYU (7-1)

BYU had Arizona State early but may have peeked ahead towards Utah in the second half. That nearly led to a second half collapse before Sione Moa scored to close out the game. They prepare for possibly the Holy War to potentially end all Holy Wars in college football history.

7) KENTUCKY (7-1)

BYE

6) OHIO STATE (6-2)

Ohio State was low on numbers in certain positions, including the quarterback position that belonged to Julian Sayin. They were outplayed by talent and experience of USC, and their defense did their best to slow down their high-flying offense to get any comeback opportunities. Their November schedule doesn’t get any easier and must a quarterback is battle-ready after their first official start against USC.

5) UCLA (8-0)

UCLA stays undefeated after a turnover-fiesta day against the lowly ol’ Nevada Wolfpack (ugh!). Their schedule’s pretty light, but two road games in November are indefinite traps that the Bruins must prepare for.

4) UTAH (8-0)

Utah chills out and obliterates Cincinnati’s confidence and celebration immediately with a 49-25 win. Devon Dampier and the defense pulled off plenty of tricks and stole their treats on their happy way back to Salt Lake City. Now, in comes their historic Holy War matchup with BYU.

3) GEORGIA (7-1)

Georgia won, but it was anything but perfect in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, the defense gave their Dawg offense plenty of advantages after forcing turnovers on Florida multiple times. They also may have peeked towards Ole Miss. With that, now they prepare for a potential SEC elimination game.

2) INDIANA (8-1)

Indiana again struggles against a defensive-minded team. This time, it’s Minnesota despite being at home. They were facing down a second straight loss on a couple of occasions, but their 60-yard field goal and immediate touchdown grab by surehanded Charlie Becker saved their ass again. After the last four October games filled with struggles mixed with wear and tear, Indiana is on their bye to recover and recuperate.

1) MIAMI (8-0)

Miami knew what they were up against and were going to avoid their sixth straight loss to North Carolina. Miami was in a surprising shootout, and nothing came easy unless that name was Mark Fletcher and Javian Mallory. They and Darian Mensah broke the mold to make sure they outscored UNC. They may have peeked towards an Angry Irish team that’ll be awaiting their arrival on Saturday.

WHO IMPRESSED? 👏🏾

SYRACUSE🍊 AND IOWA STATE🌪️

Syracuse followed up their win over UNC with a big-time upset against SMU in back-to-back weeks. They created a bit of chaos in their conference and aren’t done yet. They have Notre Dame in the last week of the regular season.

Iowa State played true Big 12 football in a scoring affair against rival, Iowa State. This was also their third straight win against the Pokes. Every time Ok State’s in position to compete for a Big 12 title bid, the mid-tier Cyclones pop out of the sky to ruin the Cowboys’ hopes.

WHO DISAPPOINTED?🙅🏾‍♂️

NORTHWESTERN

This was the Wildcats’ one and only opportunity to enter November with optimism. That went right out the window off a cliff down deep into a fiery pit after losing their lead in the second half and the game. Oregon may have dropped out of any conversation, but they took Northwestern right with them.

WHO I’M UNSURE OF? 🤔

CFP RANKINGS???

With so much chaos that happened in October, who’s truly being placed properly in the rankings this Tuesday? We know for sure that Miami, UCLA, and Utah remain undefeated and avoided all that smoke that could’ve got them in the FIVE SATURDAYS OF OCTOBER!!!! We’ll see who ends up where and how the dominoes will fall per usual.
