What’s up everyone! We are on the cusp of the World Cup taking over North America soon. I never thought I would be mixed into this rare opportunity to feel the vibe and the feeling of it in my own country. If there’s a rare time for me to attend at least once in my life, this would be that time. If you’re a soccer fan or a sports fan, I advise you to take that opportunity to attend once because we’re not sure when this country will host another World Cup. We’re also the first country to host 48 teams (which is also a first in World Cup history).

I’m posting from Groups A to Group L separately for the next few days. It’s just a quick aspect of what’s to come with each team in the group stage. If I have time, I might make a quick prediction on who advances the group stage and eventually wins the whole thing. I’ll do my best to have them out prior to the first World Cup game. Go USA and Brazil! Andiamo!!!

====================================================

Group A is about as open as it gets and any team could advance. Yes, Mexico’s favored in their Group, but they haven’t looked apart the last two World Cups. For them to advance deep into the knockout stage, the squad must be more disciplined and act accordingly against tough competition. South Korea has a rare opportunity to advance the Group back-to-back for the first time in their club. They have reliable veteran Son Heung-Min to get them there. Ironically, South Africa faces Mexico as hosts in their opener just like 2010 when South Africa faced them in their opener as hosts. They are a proven offensive group, but they could easily get overwhelmed and outplayed by better competition. Defense and counters are key for upsets. Czechia is a tough group and that by itself could make them a 2nd or 3rd place team in the Group. What they need is more explosiveness to score. They might be overwhelmed by athletes in South Africa and Mexico, but their size could help them shift the standings.
