What’s up everyone? Weather delays can be a pain sometimes. Between the 8:30am game and the 10am game slates were fine. Once we hit the between 12pm and 1pm game slates, it turned to chaos. Three games were hit with weather delays and UNC/Clemson got caught in the middle of it. The Florida State/Bama game felt like a wash because of it, and I lost interest once Bama virtually dominated the Seminoles coming out of that delay. All of that chaotic nonsense held me out from using the rest room for an extra 30 minutes because so much went on for a bit. The Ole Miss/LSU game was one of the best games of the season and the Texas Tech/Houston game from Friday had the makings of potentially a Big 12 rematch. So many big plays were happening. If anyone hasn’t seen the Vanderbilt/NC State ending, this may have closed the book on the Miami/Georgia Tech ending. Here’s the video:

Week 4 is the weekend where most of the teams across the nation enter or get deep into conference play. We will start seeing some separation before heading into the upset month that we all love to call…October football😈 Be prepared for some shocks and disappointments because I already am with my Sooners😩🙃 Have a great week everyone!

12) JAMES MADISON [G6]

It wasn’t pretty for James Madison this past weekend, but any team facing San Diego State is not expecting it to be pretty. Quarterback Camden Coleman showed himself in that matchup with 246 passing yards and two touchdowns along with 25 rushing yards on 11 carries for another. Defense played well enough to not allow them many scoring opportunities.

11) UTAH

Utah clobbered all of their opponents including Arkansas in the first three games. They looked solid so far in the post-Kyle Whittingham era with quarterback Devon Dampier continuing his success under new coach and former Utah player Morgan Scalley. Now, they travel for their first road matchup against Iowa State.

10) TEXAS TECH

Texas Tech tussled with Houston for the entire game. There were plenty of big moments, big catches, big plays, and a dose of Cam Dickey putting the nail in the coffin on Houston. They held them off from forcing overtime, but that was a classic All-Texas Big 12 matchup that could be a Big 12 title preview.

9) LSU

Lane Kiffin may have witnessed his own suffering in the hands of his former team at The Grove, but LSU should be grateful for the fight they put up in the second half and then some. Defense may have locked in at times, but they had some F-ups during the game with penalties and lack of discipline, especially back-to-back penalties on Ole Miss’s two-point conversions that forced LSU’s hand on their last possession. Sam Leavitt found his consistency a bit, but he’s proven to be a volatile quarterback that either helps his team win or lose games.

8) BYU

BYU staved off the Colorado State slander and explicit comments while tearing them up with 41 points. LJ Martin crushed the defense for 176 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns. Receiver Legend Glasker could become what his name is at BYU as he caught for 131 yards. If the receivers this season look right, so will their CFP opportunity.

7) INDIANA

Indiana continues burying weak competition six feet under in the Curt Cignetti era. They shutout their second straight opponent in Western Kentucky after that team scored 20 points against Georgia last week. Charlie Becker continues standing out as their best wideout for Indiana and may have turned into an elite receiver. We shall see as they host Northwestern in their first Big Ten matchup.

6) GEORGIA

Georgia outplayed Arkansas from start to finish, showing some mercy by allowing 14 points in the 4th quarter. For the first time this season, quarterback Gunner Stockton ran more times (7 of them) than he did just once in the first two games. He turned in a good rushing day with 97 yards despite running backs Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens combining for 4 rushing touchdowns.

5) NOTRE DAME

Notre Dame competed well against Michigan State and made sure they didn’t allow a second half comeback after the Spartans scored in the second quarter to get within striking distance. Young back Nolan James Jr. stood out on offense with 121 yards on 26 carries and a touchdown.

4) OLE MISS

Ole Miss’s defense came out hot before becoming inconsistent in the second half, but they came up with their biggest stop of the game against LSU with an endzone interception. Trinidad Chambliss is HIM. He played stellar through the first two quarters before LSU affected him in the third quarter. But when it’s the fourth quarter, it’s HIS quarter. He becomes the Heisman favorite and should outrightly ride with it until said otherwise.

3) OHIO STATE

Ohio State shut the lights out on the Golden Flashes of Kent State, but at least my boy, Dru DeShields, survived the ordeal. Ohio State took everything out on them after losing to Texas last week. Unfortunately, they dipped again in the rankings. I don’t understand how, but we’ll see in the upcoming weeks.

2) TEXAS

It was slow-moving, slow progressing, but Texas eventually got the win over UTSA. It wasn’t all that great, but they kept UTSA from scoring a touchdown the entire game. A series of running backs put together a 228-yard day. Pretty big deal in my opinion.

1) MIAMI

Miami was finally challenged this season on the road against Wake Forest. Despite allowing 20 points for Wake’s optimistic comeback, Miami’s defense came up big on 4th down stops and a turnover to seal the game. Darian Mensah still played well while Mark Fletcher and Malachi Toney looked impossible to be tackled for some parts of the game.

WHO IMPRESSED? 👏🏾

Kentucky

Despite the big loss to Alabama, they bounced back in a big way on the road at College Station (of all places to bounce back) and literally embarrassed the Aggies and the 12th Man. Kentucky played a Golden State Warriors-style of football by scoring 21 points in the 3rd quarter that proved enough to hold off A&M. Coach Will Stein is definitely feeling himself on that big win in his coaching season debut.

The Weather Delays🌩️😩

It’s normal in the early seasons of college football but COME ON!!! Mother nature must take a break at some point. Lightning delays and rain delays with potential floods can be a nuisance when trying to prepare for a game or for fans trying to get ready to watch a game in person. But hey, I can’t complain. There’s nothing to be done and it’s a natural and an annual occurrence. Maybe some east coast and south teams should play against west coast and mountain opponents in September?🤷🏾

WHO I’M UNSURE OF? 🤔

Kewan Lacy

He’s gotten consistently hurt in nearly every game he played in from last season to this past weekend’s game against LSU. I’m not sure if he can stay durable at the next level if he continues going to the sidelines.
