This weekend of NFL games was so damn odd. I can’t tell if there’s legitimately no dominant team and bad teams are not as bad, or they’re seeing how crazy college football is this season and want in on the chaos. If it wasn’t for this Monday Night Football game though, this was going to be the fourth week of sh***y primetime games since Sunday Night Football back in Week 7. The supposed bad teams like the Jets, Bengals, Browns, and Saints should take over those slots for the rest of the season. They make 10am and 1pm games in my area very entertaining to watch.

As of right now from what I’ve seen, Jonathan Taylor, Drake Maye, and Matt Stafford have played some really good football. The Ravens could likely win the AFC North despite starting 1-5. The AFC West is the worst division to watch (God give me the strength for the Broncos/Chiefs game!). The NFC West belongs to Seattle and the Rams for now (and to my dismay). The Jaguars and Giants are the worst 4th quarter team. The Steelers can’t win on primetime (so give that slot one of the bad teams I mentioned). I have no clue who the Bills, Falcons, or Packers are. The Panthers are in the playoff hunt??? And the Top 5 teams in my current Power Rankings could be really for real Super Bowl contenders…maybe…I’m not sure right now…

Alas, the NFL season is good…and bad so far. Not sure where I’m going with this. At this point, I’m very confused and Saturday football can’t get here soon enough. None of this makes sense, and so does the NFL.

TEAMS CONSIDERED

15) BALTIMORE RAVENS (4-5)

14) PITTSBURGH STEELERS (5-4)

13) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (5-4)

12) CHICAGO BEARS (6-3)

11) DENVER BRONCOS (8-2)

10) GREEN BAY PACKERS (5-3-1)

Since the late summer before Week 1, I’m trying to figure out who won the trade between Green Bay and Dallas. Monday Night was entertaining and Green Bay’s defense played well, but not their offense. They had opportunities, but turnovers and questionable play calling cost them, especially on fourth down two possessions prior which made no sense. I understand that they’re down a few pass catchers due to injuries, but they had questionable playcalling prior to losing some.

9) BUFFALO BILLS (6-3)

It’s very odd to see Buffalo struggling the way they did today. Josh Allen was the main reason, and the defense struggled to stop De’Von Achane and Miami most of the game. I really don’t know who Buffalo is. We thought they had things figured out after taking down Kansas City, but I guess not.

8) LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (7-3)

I almost thought this game would be a barn burner like the Broncos/Raiders Thursday Night Football. Thank God it didn’t happen because the Chargers was a slow, inevitable nightmare to Pittsburgh. They double teamed DK Metcalf for most of the night, made life complicated for Aaron Rodgers to make a play, and the offense eventually wore down Pittsburgh’s defense. L.A. turned out to be the better team despite Justin Herbert getting knocked around with a revolving door of offensive linemen.

7) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (6-3)

Tampa Bay came out of a bye in a slugfest against Re-New-ed England Patriots led by Drake Maye and coach Mike Vrabel. Tampa tried their best to keep up with them, but it just wasn’t enough without their key weapons. They eventually need them back if they want to win the division and make a postseason run.

6) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (7-2)

With how close this game was, Philly was still the better team. They had Green Bay on time of possession, they hit their targets a bit more consistently (just a bit), and their defense had a bit more bite to keep Jordan Love uncomfortable. It wasn’t a great game, but the Eagles still got a big win on the road.

5) INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (8-2)

What a showdown in Germany! Indy survived after the run defense was exposed. It sucks that they don’t have DeForest Buckner, but the defense came up clutch when it mattered. As Curt Cignetti said last week, “Refused to Lose.” Also, Jonathan Taylor is an animal! If he doesn’t win the MVP, I will be so floored. The man ran over people and scored on a whim almost every week.

4) RE-NEW-ED ENGLAND PATRIOTS (8-2)

New England keeps winning. They’re either dominating or finding ways to win. They’re getting better each week and it’s hard to stop them as of right now. Their past few games, including against Tampa Bay, all have resumés that likely make the Patriots a playoff team. One more win increases their possibility of a postseason.

3) DETROIT LIONS (6-3)

Detroit put on a show in the presence of President Donald Trump, who mentioned about the new stadium being built in Washington in a few years. Jared Goff, Jahmyr Gibbs, Jameson Williams, and Amon-Ra St. Brown, all carved up Washington’s helpless defense. It was a “gotta have it game” to stay above the Bears that seem hopeful.

2) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (7-2)

Seattle made real work of Arizona. The score reflects most of it, but they were up 35-7 at one point. Defense just destroyed the Cardinals’ offense for most of the game. The offense made big play after big play against a limited defense that had no key players on the field. Now, they face the Rams for control of the NFC West.

1) LOS ANGELES RAMS (7-2)

Rams owned the 49ers defense that had…well little to nothing to work with. Kyren Williams and Blake Corum ate the trenches with little resistance. Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and a couple of tight ends made work of the coverage with ease. Matt Stafford was surgical the entire game. While defense couldn’t stop the Niners’ offensive assault for some parts of the game, they did make stops and impacted the game with turnovers. Next up is the Seattle Seahawks for control of the NFC West.
