What’s up everyone! This past NFL football weekend was better than it was the past few weeks. There were some thrillers, nail-biters, upsets, and maybe teams rebounding and resurging.
The Ravens are cooking while Houston’s looking like a potential AFC South threat after Indianapolis’s loss. We also had 3 overtimes that included those Colts against the Chiefs along with the Giants/Lions and Jaguars/Cardinals game. Jameis Winston cooked as a gunslinger and nearly led the Giants to a big win in Detroit. Myles Garrett is on the hunt for a career record sack mark and potentially an NFL sack record too. Shedeur Sanders went along for the ride with his first win in his debut as a Brown and made history as the first Browns QB to do it. The player that stood out to me during the weekend was Bengals rookie receiver Mitchell Tinsley. He stepped up alongside Andrei Iosivas when Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins were out with injuries. He only had 2 catches, but boy were they big ones with a touchdown. Finally, the Cowboys got a huge win against Philly in all facets. Offense, defense, and special teams came together to clip the Eagles’ wings in the 2nd half. Maybe Jerry Jones had a plan all along. That senile, old…genius!
We head into Thanksgiving week with about 6 games or so left, and this is where real football comes in. We’ll find out who stands out as we get towards the playoffs in over a month or so.
TEAMS CONSIDERED
15) SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (8-4)
14) BUFFALO BILLS (7-4)
13) JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (7-4)
12) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (6-5)
11) BALTIMORE RAVENS (6-5)
10) HOUSTON TEXANS (6-5)

I was impressed by the Texans. This defense is championship level ready. Will Anderson led the charge and kept this defense motoring and put Josh Allen on notice and punished him with two interceptions (one of them being the game-ender). Houston won three straight games and won 6 of the last 8 after starting 0-3. They still have 2 games against Indianapolis, who just lost to Kansas City. That series could potentially decide who wins the South depending on Jacksonville’s situation.
9) CHICAGO BEARS (8-3)

Chicago continues eking out wins. This was their sixth one-score win this season and fourth straight one-score win. Caleb Willams got battered a bit and lost a fumble giving Pittsburgh a touchdown and TJ Watt his record over his brother, JJ Watt. Still, he carved their defense for 3 touchdown passes and the team held on for their 4th straight win, including their 8th in the last 9 weeks. However, their last six games are no cakewalk.
8) DENVER BRONCOS (9-2)

BYE
7) GREEN BAY PACKERS (7-3-1)

The Packers offense didn’t look like much, but backup running back Emanuel Wilson huffed it out for 107 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns while Green Bay’s defense stifled J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings’ offense. Complimentary football isn’t always bad as long as they have a good defense.
6) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (8-2)

Philly took full control of the Cowboys early until they couldn’t anymore. They were shutout in the second half, couldn’t capitalize on anything when they had possession or got a fumble recovery, lost the turnover battle, missed a field goal that could’ve kept them alive, and got outplayed in the run game. They should be alright, but I think their offense is questionable moving forward. Their bigger issue is Dak Prescott in the organization’s career, win or lose!
5) INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (8-3)

I’m sorry to say this, but the Colts had one opportunity to set themselves up for a guaranteed postseason opportunity if they defeated the Chiefs. Unfortunately, they gave away a 20-9 lead to lose in the end without scoring another point. I would advise anyone looking at the Colts’ remaining schedule to grit their teeth a bit. It is an underrated gauntlet against Houston and Jacksonville twice, the road warrior Seahawks, and the 49ers. Indy came up short of the playoffs on multiple occasions, and this could be the biggest collapse in the organization’s history if that happens again.
4) DETROIT LIONS (7-4)

The Lions fought this one out. It didn’t look good, and Jameis Winston was running and gunning all over the place. They got themselves back in around the second quarter and locked in the rest of the way. Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown sunk their teeth into the Giants’ defense and tore them apart. It was an offensive onslaught and there was nothing that could be done. Detroit stays within striking distance of the Packers and Bears.
3) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (8-3)

Seattle mostly dominated the Titans before nearly losing it in garbage time. Jaxon Smith-Njigba continues having a huge 2nd year with his 8th 100-yard game this season. He’s virtually unstoppable and has yet to have a down game this season as he hasn’t gone under 79 yards. However, what’s up with Seattle and their half-brand of football? And I mean HALF-brand? They’re only dominating a half in most of their games!!!
2) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (10-2)

The Patriots won to put themselves in an eventual postseason spot. It wasn’t an impressive performance by New England, but when they got to have this one, they got after it and got it done like they have from some of their past games. While Patriot fans smile, Buffalo fans everywhere are coping. However, they lost a couple of their crucial offensive linemen to injury. Will Campbell might be out for awhile.
1) LOS ANGELES RAMS (9-2)

Matt Stafford and the Rams pummeled Baker Mayfield and the Bucs. They pummeled them so bad that Baker was knocked out for the game. Once again, Stafford was surgical for 3 touchdowns with solid protection and made mincemeat out of the Bucs’ limited coverage. LA continues rolling as their next two games are fairly simple.
