BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

Where do we start? The Giants upsetting the Eagles with Cam Skattebo gave Philly a reality check. I wasn’t a fan of the London game, so I just went back to sleep and didn’t miss a thing. However, the morning games with five coming down to the wire was a doozy. There were also a couple of amazing catches by including Stefon Diggs’ catch that was called back for penalties. At least the Kayshon Boutte touchdown catch stuck, and one of the announcers mentioned that the “Boutte was too strong” lol. The Chargers’ win against the lowly Dolphins now avoids their 0-fer outside of their own division. How about Rico Dowdle’s revenge game in a huge way against Dallas? I think Dallas regrets giving up another player that was important. Not saying Javonte Williams wasn’t good for Dallas, but still. The afternoon games were awesome, but my Niners took the brunt of it against Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay. Losing Fred Warner was the worst feeling for me. It sucks man. But Baker’s 3rd and 14 play for that first down at all costs was by far the best play I’ve ever seen. He’s a f***ing dog and deserves to be recognized. The Lions and Chiefs nearly tore each other apart thanks to Brian Branch getting into it with JuJu Smith-Schuster. The Falcons gave Buffalo back-to-back L’s and Chicago equalized Washington in Jake Moody’s redemption arc. Beautiful. Week 6 was bizarre, but it gave us some kind of idea of who might stand out…or not.

TEAMS CONSIDERED

15) WASHINGTON COMMANDERS (3-3)

14) SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (4-2)

13) ATLANTA FALCONS (3-2)

12) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (3-3)

11) JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (4-2)

10) DENVER BRONCOS (4-2)

The game was a bit ugly for both teams. It wasn’t all that entertaining to begin with. There was plenty of defense but also plenty of turnovers and mistakes. Denver survived London by two points after the Jets had them cornered. All it took was one more field goal in the fourth to clinch it. I don’t know what to think of Denver. They don’t seem like they’re all there, and the hype maybe a bit too much.

9) BUFFALO BILLS (4-2)

Buffalo drops back-to-back games. They struggled against Atlanta’s defense and now trail New England in the AFC East in a tiebreaker going to New England for right now. The offense didn’t look great and the defense struggled to stop anyone for some parts of the game. Injuries on defense may be the reason for it. I said this before, and I’ll say it again. There might be a real problem in Buffalo.

8) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (4-2)

Never thought they’d be here, but here we are in 2025. One of my three underrated AFC teams makes it after holding on against the Saints. Kayshon Boutte had a big day, and Drake Maye continues cooking. They’re now in control of the AFC East by way of a tiebreaker over Buffalo. Coach Mike Vrabel’s bringing it with gas…and plans to burn it all down in Tennessee next week🔥🔥🔥

7) PITTSBURGH STEELERS (4-1)

Slowly, but surely, the Steelers handled Cleveland with little to no issue. Dillon Gabriel had a nice debut last week in London, but Pittsburgh gave him a nice debut at Pittsburgh the hard way. Not to take away from Pittsburgh, but Gabriel threw the ball 52 times. Wow! Cleveland got no more than three made field goals after all that.

6) GREEN BAY PACKERS (3-1-1)

Green Bay hung on at 10-0 for a bit, but it had that ominous feeling that Packer fans are familiar with when the team played Joe Flacco before. This time, Green Bay eventually tore down Cincinnati’s defense to win the game. It wasn’t pretty per usual, but Green Bay got it done thanks to Josh Jacobs tearing them down.

5) LOS ANGELES RAMS (4-2)

LA defeated Baltimore, but it was odd. It seemed like LA’s offense was struggling and Baltimore had opportunities to control this game. Eventually, the Rams’ defense made the difference by forcing fumbles and an interception. Puka Nacua made it out fine, but he may not play moving forward with his ankle injury. The Rams haven’t had the best of performances in some of their games, but their quality of performance is the reason why they’re here.

4) DETROIT LIONS (4-2)

One: It was unfortunate that the trick play touchdown catch to Jared Goff didn’t count cause of illegal formation. Didn’t know there was a rule for that. Two: When it looked like Detroit had a chance to control the game against Kansas City, things went awry and it didn’t work out. And three: Detroit’s 1-2 this season when held under 100 yards rushing. What’s worse is their secondary’s suffering through injuries once again. Brian Branch’s postgame scuffle with JuJu Smith-Schuster was interesting, but not surprising. While JuJu tends to stir up stuff, I heard Branch has gotten himself in trouble on occasion.

3) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (4-2)

Seattle overcame a slow start against Jacksonville in the first quarter, but things got better after that. Jaxon Smith-Njigba went supernova again with eight catches, 162 yards, and a touchdown. Seattle’s succeeding on the road more than at home since Mike McDonald took over as the head coach. I hate saying this because I despise them with all my being, but that’s going to benefit them if they make the postseason.

2) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (5-1)

Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay dueled San Fran for a while. In the midst of all the casualties (injuries) during the game, they still manage to outplay them in the second half. Tampa’s defense made a lot of big plays, including a couple of interceptions and sacking Mac Jones six times. Even without guys like Chris Godwin, Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, and even Emeka Egbuka (hurt during the game), others contributed to Baker’s huge day. Tampa’s proven to be a good team thus far and Mayfield’s cooking the MVP conversation.

1) INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (5-1)

The Colts were on the edge of an upset loss to an injury-riddled Cardinals team. However, their decimated secondary allowed 320 passing yards against backup Jacoby Brissett, but the defense made enough impactful plays to keep Indy in the game. Danny Dimes and Jonathan Taylor came through for the team. Let’s also add rookie tight end Tyler Warren. He was really good against Zona’s defense and looks to be in the offensive rookie of the year conversation later down the road.
