What’s up everyone! I’m back after an interesting and exciting offseason. It’s nice to finally celebrate a championship with the Thunder after a 17-year wait, patiently. Now, football seasons closing in and I’m ready for everything they bring to the table…until Kyle Shanahan flips the script and causes pain and misery for us Niner fans again…unless???
Anyway, I’m doing NFL and College Football Power Rankings again. Whether anyone agrees or disagrees, I’m open to everyone’s opinion in the comments below. I have plenty of football and sports content coming this season. Hope you all enjoy and have a great day!
10) DALLAS COWBOYS

Looks like the Comedy Club’s open for business in Arlington, and Jerry Jones is the host with the most. As much as I want to get into all the jokes and memes of all things Dallas, I’m going to be mostly professional and respectable. First off, Micah Parsons requesting a trade is a blow to their defense? Secondly, Dak Prescott’s return from injury along with a few other key players. Lastly, they’re at #10 because despite everything happening, Dallas still fields a team that can compete for the postseason as long as they stay healthy. Things change, but Dallas is still the same to some extent. Also, I would love to know about rookie backs Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah’s chances of being young duos this season. Please, I really must know.
9) SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

The 49ers had a rollercoaster of an offseason. Losing some key players to trades and retirement. Brock Purdy finally gets an extended contract that’s deserving. CMC is back and looks good in practice. Eventually, the offseason simmered down except the heat in Cali. The 49ers still have a packed roster, but depth on the offensive line and health of the secondary will play a critical part in how their season plays out. Despite all that, optimism should be on San Fran’s side this time.
8) LOS ANGELES RAMS

The Rams were the only postseason team to lose a close one to Philly. They also had the last possession to try and win too despite the snowstorm overwhelming them. Speaking of Philly, they have them in Week 3 and look to avenge that loss. Outside of them the 49ers, Baltimore, and Tampa Bay, their schedule’s favorable and they can cakewalk through as long as they’re healthy. They also must keep Stafford healthy because QB depth behind isn’t promising.
7) DETROIT LIONS

Was last season their last opportunity for a Super Bowl run? Detroit has the roster to go head-to-head with anyone in the NFL. But the injuries to their defense was a big blow to their opportunity and being outplayed by last year’s rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels added insult to injury. Aidan Hutchinson’s expected back and others should follow, but the NFC North bulked up enough just to make things complicated for Detroit to win the North division again.
6) MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Minnesota has what it takes to potentially win the NFC North and potentially compete for the overall seed. However, the only thing holding them back is the quarterback. Is JJ McCarthy the right quarterback to hand the reigns too? He showed promise, but the injury only delayed questions going into this season. Without Sam Darnold, it’s up to him to take what he learned from Darnold and put it to use with all the pass catchers he’s blessed with. Deep breaths and stay positive, kid.
5) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

There’s no reason why the Buccaneers can’t win their fifth straight division and be the first NFC South team to do it. They have Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Mike Evans, and a front seven defense. They also have contributors to back them up. However, the offensive line and the secondary must stay healthy, and Baker must get out of his own way and not make many mistakes. Accomplishing that spells NFC South title, NFC title opportunity, and Super Bowl opportunity.
4) BALTIMORE RAVENS

Baltimore hasn’t had a drop off nor will they have one for another season or two. However, when will that turn into a Super Bowl appearance? They had two straight seasons of high expectations only to falter both times to both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Heck, Joe Burrow had better success against both, and Cincy’s roster wasn’t fully built to compete for the Super Bowl. Pittsburgh may have their quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, which puts more pressure on the Ravens to play well. It’s up to Lamar Jackson to get them over the hump.
3) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Kansas City had way too many close calls to be considered a great team last season. Everyone witnessed it and reality eventually set in for Patrick Mahomes and company against Philly when they beat the brakes off them from start to finish in the Super Bowl. Their only bright spot was Xavier Worthy tearing up the secondary. Outside of him, Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton, and the inside of the offensive line, there’s got to be questions elsewhere and worry on the team. Defense did the job last year, so now it’s time to see what the offense looks like and maybe it gives them some breather. Usually it’s a get back season, but I’m not so sure Kansas City has that in them. I could be wrong.
2) BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo put doubters to shame last season with another AFC title appearance last season and are expected back unless Joe Burrow or an early collision with Patrick Mahomes puts a damper on things again. Now that’s where doubters can actually feel right about. Buffalo has Josh Allen, which is enough to expect another deep postseason run. They also might be in line for the overall seed this season barring any issue amongst him or key players.
1) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

The Super Bowl champs are primed for another postseason run back to the Super Bowl. Philly fans might hate me for this (not surprisingly), but their schedule gets tougher and they’re replacing pieces across the board, including Kellen Moore after he took the Saints job. The Rams are looking for vengeance in Week 3 and the Commanders are their biggest regular season problem for the past few seasons. Don’t expect that to change with two games in the last three weeks of the season. Did I also mention Saquon Barkley’s on the Madden cover? Doesn’t that spell…Madden curse? Anyone? Anyone? Google it. You’ll see.
