What a weekend filled with missed kicks. and there were a lot of them. However, Lions Jake Bates was fine and even Jake Moody was too. There was even a blocked kick in the Green Bay/Chicago game. What’s going on with Justin Tucker missing kicks? He got outplayed by Steelers’ Chris Boswell. Kicking has become a theme this season that not many are aware of, and it may continue that way going into the postseason. Besides kicks, I’m realizing that the NFC South is still the NFC South…overrated thanks to Atlanta disappointing in many people’s eyes thinking Kirk Cousin can make this team formidable. They can still make the playoffs, but they could choke away their division if Tampa can close out games. The AFC West is slowly bulking up with Sean Payton and Jim Harbaugh building something for their respective teams. The Jets are still the Jets and are likely done. The Aaron Rodgers experiment might be a failure. While the Raiders definitely need a quarterback (cough cough Shedeur maybe?), the Patriots may have solidified theirs with Drake Maye.
10) LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Justin Herbert and company gave the Bengals some first half punishment. Unfortunately, they failed to stop Joe Burrow from mounting a comeback to tie the game. Fortunately, they survived after Evan McPherson missed two most important kicks of the game. Jim Harbaugh’s touch may have turn the Chargers into a winning team with postseason aspirations. He has a date with his older brother on Monday Night Football. The Harbowl should be good!
9) GREEN BAY PACKERS

Green Bay’s real estate that Aaron Rodgers laid out in Chicago was at stake. Chicago finally had an offense going and were moving on the Packers’ defense. It looked like it was all over, and Caleb Williams becomes the new Chicago realtor. Unfortunately, Green Bay blocked off their access with a field goal block and won their 11th straight game against them. Even with Aaron gone, Green Bay still owns Chicago.
8) MINNESOTA VIKINGS

It wasn’t perfect by the secondary allowing a 98-yard touchdown to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Otherwise, they bogged down Tenn’s offense and didn’t do much of anything against Minnesota. Sam Darnold had a good day outside of losing the ball on a fumble. Minnesota keeps rolling to stay with Detroit for the NFC’s top spot and a North division title.
7) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Philly was off to a slow start and the kicking game wasn’t great either, which made fans uneasy again. The team realized everything’s going through Saquon Barkley, and Washington’s defense suffered in his wake per usual. Looking at their current situation, they likely compete with Detroit for the overall seed. Unless Washington rolls right back around with a healthy Daniels to equalize the matchup, Philly walks their way into a division title and with little resistance on their remaining schedule with only Baltimore and Pittsburgh to deal with.

5) BALTIMORE RAVENS

Baltimore ran into a buzzsaw in Pittsburgh again. They had a few big plays on offense, but it didn’t account for more than 16 points (fewest of the season). Lamar Jackson didn’t have the best of games which was expected against Pittsburgh per usual, but Justin Tucker had his worst with two missed field goals that could’ve won them the game. Derrick Henry got his first taste of the AFC North with a touchdown though but lost a fumble (which doesn’t happen often). Baltimore now lost eight games in the last nine meetings against the Steelers. The division hangs in the balance against their hated rival.
4) PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Russell Wilson and Justin Fields got their first taste of the AFC North against Pittsburgh’s biggest rival. Defense did their job by keeping the NFL’s best offense to 16 points. George Pickens had a field day against the secondary for 89 yards and the team chunked up yardage and time to keep Lamar on the sideline. Patrick Queen paid back his former team with a forced fumble and recovery on the same play. Chris Bosworth outplayed Justin Tucker with six field goals to win the game. They completed their first test, but their next test is at Cleveland. All they need is a ninth win to be considered for the playoffs.
3) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

If any of you haven’t heard, the Chiefs not only lost their first game of the season since Christmas against Vegas, but they also allowed 30 points for the first time since the Super Bowl against the Eagles two seasons ago. Kansas City’s offensive struggles finally came full circle against their rival Buffalo. However, they can still run the table for the overall seed and the Super Bowl. Don’t think it’s over just yet.
2) BUFFALO BILLS

Josh Allen and Buffalo’s defense fought their asses off all game long. They tore apart Kansas City’s defense slowly, but surely and was the first team to score 30 points on them in two seasons. They go into a bye feeling really confident in their situation. Their last six games coming out will ultimately decide where they stand.
1) DETROIT LIONS

Detroit destroyed Jacksonville in every which way possible. Jared Goff, MCDC and company had another big game and scored 50 points for the second time this season. Jared Goff can do no wrong, even if he throws five interceptions in a game at any point again. The Lions continue looking like the best team in the NFL thus far.
