Teams remaining whether it’s in the Top 25 or still have a shot for the conference championship that could jettison them into the postseason must put everything on the line this month and next month. They must have everyone in gear and focused and anticipate everything. My Power Rankings still remain for what I see each week. No more honorable mentions or disappointments. This is November and this is for the postseason. If you see a team oddly in my Top 12, you either know why or can find out why. I’ll likely be the one and only most complicated Power Rankings you’ll see moving forward, but I want to do my best to drop some info as best as possible. If you feel differently, that’s why I welcome comments. For anyone’s college football teams still alive, good luck out there. For those that are plotting upsets, good luck as well. Either this weekend or next weekend is the beginning of eliminations from playoff contention and conference title contention. We appreciate upsets and chaos in football! 🫡
12) NOTRE DAME

Like Army, Notre Dame didn’t look ahead to next week. They focused all their might on a broken-down Florida State team. The Irish forced two turnovers while getting eight sacks and 10 tackles for losses. Quarterback Riley Leonard and company had a field day to get some practice before their big game against Army.
11) SMU

BYE WEEK
10) BOISE STATE

I wanted to have faith and believe my alumni school Nevada could upset Boise State. They scared them but it wasn’t enough to give them a heart attack and still pulled away 28-21, surprisingly. Ashton Jeanty bulldozed the Pack’s defense for 209 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Boise continues their run with Jeanty as the unstoppable force.
9) BYU

BYU was on their very heels at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Despite being under pressure, special teams was the difference along with a couple of controversial calls late in the game, including one on 4th down backed up in their endzone that gave BYU a game-winning field goal drive. Throughout the game, they only had one offensive touchdown, but they played well at two other levels. As I mentioned before, playing at all three levels can usually make a playoff team.
8) TENNESSEE

Games The Vols Haven’t Allowed 20 Points Since 2024 Began: 10
Just like the Chiefs, Tennessee deserves one after their consistent defensive success (even with 1 loss). The run game and defense were the center of Tennessee’s success against Mississippi State. Dylan Sampson topped 149 yards for a touchdown while receivers Dont’e Thornton Jr. and Squirrel White had a good day with a touchdown each. Defense gave up 179 yards on the ground, but it didn’t matter because they forced two turnovers to break their spirits. The Vols travel to Athens to face a dispirited Bulldogs in a likely SEC title elimination game.
7) TEXAS

Texas dismantled Florida. Quinn Ewers had a solid game throwing for 333 yards and five touchdowns in their easy outing at home. Not sure if Arkansas will give them any issue next week, but it’s best to approach them lightly.
6) GEORGIA

Georgia got dog walked all game long. After forcing a turnover and scoring a touchdown and a field goal, they did nothing and couldn’t find a response against Ole Miss’s defense. Carson Beck was pressured into five sacks a few forced fumbles and losses over it, including another interception in SEC play. This was by far Georgia’s worst game of the season and are now reeling for a playoff spot.
5) PENN STATE

Penn State was clearheaded and moved on by stomping out Washington with no hesitation. They only allowed two field goals in the second half while Drew Allar and company put it on them. As long as they don’t run into any issues with Minnesota on the road, they should win out and be an At-Large Playoff team.
4) OLE MISS

Ole Miss looked like the better team from start to finish. Despite the turnover that eventually led to a touchdown, they didn’t allow more than 10 points. Backup quarterback Austin Simmons handled himself well against Georgia’s defense when Jaxson Dart got hurt on a turnover play. The offense carved them while the defense pressured the offense all game long with constant forced fumbles and sacks. The team played themselves back into the playoff conversation.
3) INDIANA

Indiana was finally tested against one of the better Big Ten teams as far as consistency and history goes. Indiana came out playing early and held on against Michigan at all three levels. They passed their first test and now can win at least one more game to be considered a playoff contender. By assumption, a win against Ohio State likely clinches them a Big Ten title spot, but don’t tell coach Cignetti that to cause any complacency.
2) OHIO STATE

Ohio State crushed Purdue in what was pretty much a warmup/exhibition-like game. At least they weren’t looking ahead to Indiana next week, but they have a chance to win back-to-back games against the state of Indiana with a rising Cignetti Hoosiers coming to town.
1) OREGON

Oregon had a slow first quarter, but then put it down Maryland’s throats the rest of the way. Dillon Gabriel had an underwhelming for 183 yards passing, but he still scored three touchdowns. Defense assaulted Maryland quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. for two sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. Now, they travel to Madison, Wisconsin for what should be a potential trap game.
