BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

The NFL had more than 50 percent of games in close finishes. Not only that, in kinda provided us some teams that are either contenders or pretenders. In my opinion, I’m not feeling Dallas, Indy, Chicago, or Seattle. But I’m feeling Washington, Baltimore, Detroit, Green Bay (for better, for worse), Kansas City, and Minnesota (to an extent). Teams I’m not sure about just yet even if they are playoff bound are the Jets, Miami, Cincy, Atlanta, Arizona, Rams, Chargers, Pittsburgh, and San Fran. There’s still half a season left so anything can happen. If you take a look at the current NFC and AFC playoff standings, there’s literally no separation. The NFL this season has been wild and anything’s possible. It’s farfetched to hell but maybe a 2-7 team can find their way into the playoffs while an 8-0 team or a 7-1 team can play themselves out. It likely never happens but I’m allowed to be hypothetical lol Oh and enjoy this Saquon Barkley backwards leap. If anyone knows a button to this trick in a video game, please leave it down in the comments…or even post a small clip🤣

10) HOUSTON TEXANS

CJ Stroud and Houston didn’t play well while Joe Mixon had another 100-yard game and Tank Dell was carrying the receiving corp. The offensive line’s wear and tear showed why CJ Stroud struggled and was sacked a lot that Thursday Night and the season. Houston’s a good team, but they struggled against good defenses.

9) PITTSBURGH STEELERS

BYE WEEK

8) GREEN BAY PACKERS

Packers have now lost six of their last 10 games at home against Detroit since 2015. Jordan Love struggled and Josh Jacobs isn’t 100% despite rushing for nearly 100 yards. Jayden Reed came up with some big plays even if the game was already lost. There were times where the defense struggled against the run and got carved by Jared Goff. It was a wet and rainy mess, but the Packers hit the bye week at the right time to let everyone, including Jordan Love, recover.

7) ARIZONA CARDINALS

Arizona owned Chicago from the beginning and maybe the name itself if we wanna talk past team names between the 1920s and 1950s. They sacked Caleb Williams six times, including hitting him a few more. The run game was surgical (213 total rush yards) by James Conner, Emari Demercado, and Trey Benson. This is the second time that Arizona allowed only field goals in a game this season, and they’re atop of the NFC West (ugh!).

6) MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Sam Darnold was responsible for three turnovers, including a fumble returned for a touchdown, and taking some sacks. However, defense never wavered a touchdown and gave Joe Flacco and Jonathan Taylor a hard time. The Vikings looked like themselves and the pass defense kept everything in front. Let’s see if that continues.

5) BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo cakewalked Miami earlier this season, but the same can’t be said the second time with Tua recovered from a concussion from his previous meeting with them. Alongside Tua and Tyreek Hill, De’Von Achane was killing Buffalo’s defense on the ground and in the air. Defense was beat up and couldn’t stop the offense, so Josh Allen put on his cape and went to work on them. They escaped with a win, but defense is still inconsistent.

4) BALTIMORE RAVENS

Baltimore torched the Broncos with no resistance. Derrick Henry easily ran through them and scored his 100th rushing touchdown of his career. He could’ve walked and still averaged a good percentage per carry. Ravens’ pass defense did give up some big plays, but they did a great job containing them as the game progressed while not allowing more than one touchdown (trick play made by Courtland Sutton to Bo Nix). They had an easy break this weekend.

3) WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Washington sweeps the Giants for the first time since 2011 when Rex Grossman was Washington’s starter. Jayden Daniels put on a clinic with some luck with penalties and New York missing a couple of 2-point conversions. Washington continues their run at 7-2 still leading the NFC East.

2) DETROIT LIONS

Detroit took down the Packers at Green Bay for the sixth time in 10 seasons, including winning three straight there. Dan Campbell’s presence has been the difference and so was Jared Goff, the offensive line, and backs David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. They’re rolling perfectly and hope to keep it going as they are still in control of the NFC.

1) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Games that Kansas City held teams under 30 points: 29 straight

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City was reeling against Baker Mayfield and the Bucs in a wet, rainy match. But, time of possession, consistent third downs, Kareem Hunt, and DeAndre Hopkins got them over the hump per usual to stay undefeated. Who will stop them? Nobody knows.
