Games this past weekend was surprisingly awesome. I wasn’t happy that my Niners lost, but that didn’t take away from my excitement of football all weekend. Upsets galore all weekend, kickers dominating the first two weeks with long field goal makes and the number of attempts taken to keep some teams in and win, and the Chiefs winning by a toe again for the second straight week. However, there were negatives that included young quarterbacks like Bryce Young being benched in favor of Andy Dalton for the next game, Will Levis making another error that cost his team two wins, and Caleb Williams getting a reality check from the Texans’ defense. It’s only Week 2 and plenty are still being figured out, but some 0-2 teams either need to figure out what went wrong or schedule your Cancun trip early. Carolina and the Giants might be the first two, but hey, still a long season.
10) BALTIMORE RAVENS

Baltimore was in a defensive battle with Vegas from start to finish. When it looked like they got away after going up 10, they failed to keep Davante Adams and company from a comeback victory. Baltimore’s 0-2 for the first time since 2015. Kicker Justin Tucker may have questions on his missed kicks that were the difference in two straight games now. The offensive line also is dealt a tough draw for the next three weeks against Vegas, Buffalo, and Cincinnati that has a pass rushing front seven.
9) GREEN BAY PACKERS

For now, no Jordan Love, no problem. Malik Willis managed the game to the best of his ability while Josh Jacobs went off for 150 plus rushing yards. Defense held up well and made Anthony Richardson realize he has little accuracy when not launching a cannon. Next up is likely a defensive battle against the Titans. I’m not sold on Willis just yet, and a couple of throws he made could’ve easily ended in interceptions, and Tennessee knows him very well as a former Titan.
8) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Some things went right and wrong during the game. I’m aware that Philly was without AJ Brown, but the team were capable of moving the ball efficiently without him. What went right was the combination of Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley moving the ball with their offensive line while defense challenged Kirk Cousins, Bijan Robinson and company for most of the game. What went wrong was illegal formation penalties and questionable play calling that took away three points and then some (that was the difference of the game). Like Dallas, is Philly actually good again???
7) BUFFALO BILLS

The Bills cooked Miami in their own house with little to no issue. They kept Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle in check even though De’Von Achane played as well as he could. That didn’t stop Josh Allen, James Cook, and the secondary from making life miserable for Miami.
6) NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, and New Orleans went supernova in the first two games with 40 plus points while holding both Carolina and Dallas under 20 points. Is this the turnaround both Carr and the team needs??? We’ll find out when they host Philly next week.
5) DETROIT LIONS

Aidan Hutchinson tried to massacre Baker Mayfield for the sack record while MCDC called a bold fake punt play that led to a first down. All high-level situations happening, but the Lions came up short at home in a rematch against Tampa. Amon-Ra St. Brown was reluctant to still play despite his injury, but he will be monitored. MCDC and the team were criticized for not sticking to their MCDC ways of playing football. Hope it changes when Detroit travels to Arizona for a tricky game against Kyler Murray.
4) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Baker Mayfield used his shake and bake skills while locking up the Lions at Detroit. When the Lions focused their intentions on Mike Evans, Chris Godwin was the go-to throughout the game. The team got their revenge after losing a close one in the divisional round last season. They face Philly in two weeks, but hopefully Rachaad White is ok to play.
3) SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

San Francisco falls short again to Minnesota. They lost eight straight meetings at Minneapolis, and it’s been over 30 YEARS since they last defeated them there. Well, history continues its run, but one day they’ll find a way to win there again. Injuries became a headline per usual and the team must endure the situation until they get to a bye week. We’re on to the Rams.
2) HOUSTON TEXANS

Houston wasn’t fazed by Caleb Williams’ presence. Instead, the defense took it right to him and gave him, the offensive line, and the Bears community a reality check with sacks, picks, and more. CJ Stroud and the offense did just enough to get by while DeMeco Ryans’ defensive schemes made work of Chicago’s offense. The team looks balanced, but now they have a date with the Vikings to see how truly improved they are overall.
1) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

The Chiefs found a way to win again. Instead of winning by their opponent toeing the line, Kansas City toed the ball for the field goal to win it. This is also KC’s 23rd straight game that they haven’t allow 30 points. Unless the Falcons or Chargers end that streak, the Saints and 49ers are likely next to put Kansas City’s defensive streak at risk.
