It could either be their backup quarterbacks that could be better suited as starters for them, free agent quarterbacks, or drafting quarterbacks. Either way, these teams could be on the verge of moving on to new QBs altogether.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Derek Carr and Dennis Allen should be under pressure this season. Maybe Carr needed a year to adjust to his new team or maybe he’s unsure about playing with them after being traded from the Raiders. Either way, this season is playoff or bust. They’re too talented and there’s no reason Carr can’t find a way to get them to the postseason. If they fail and Carr’s not playing up to his All-Pro level, NOLA’s moving on to a new guy.
NEW YORK GIANTS

Daniel Jones’ should be on a short leash this season. The team made a mistake of paying him all that money, but Daniel Jones is also accountable after wanting a contract extension. Not only was he out with an injury, but New York also lost Saquon Barkley to rival Philadelphia. If Danny Dimes can’t get it done as the leader this season, New York should move on from him with a new quarterback next season.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

The Raiders surged late with five wins in the last nine games since November. Defense was heavily responsible, and the presence of Antonio Pierce gave reason the Raiders could maybe improve this upcoming season. It’s hard to pinpoint it when the only questionable position is at quarterback. Garnder Minshew has good moments in stretches on teams he played for, but he’s not the long-term answer. Aiden O’Connell’s alright but is he really the guy? If the Raiders do about the same this season, maybe re-evaluating the quarterback position isn’t a bad idea.
DALLAS COWBOYS

I’m skeptical on Dallas this upcoming season because of playoff disappointments, offseason chatter by Jerry Jones, Mike McCarthy coaching on his contract season, and questions surrounding Dak Prescott’s future in Big D. The team could blow it all up this season and search for not only a new coach, but a new quarterback. Maybe I’m wrong for assuming, but Dallas is for sure in the “NFC Title/Super Bowl or Bust” season. It doesn’t matter how the team plays; they must find a way to the playoffs and defeat the 49ers and/or Packers to get there, or McCarthy and Dak are likely gone next year.
