BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

10) SETH HENIGAN – MEMPHIS

After watching Henigan for three seasons, he has an arm, is a leader, and has moxie. It showed in the AutoZone Bowl when he threw for over 300 yards in a win over Iowa State. He tore up for 300 plus yards against two Power 5 opponents last season and has the capability to do more this upcoming season with plenty of returns on offense. However, he’s currently a mid-to-late rounder in my opinion because he’s 0-3 against ranked opponents in the AAC. Two of them are gone with only Tulane remaining and Memphis potentially faces them and Florida State as ranked opponents. If he wants his stock to rise, he must perform at a high level against good competition to have a shot at being drafted next season.

9) CAM WARD – MIAMI (FL)

The former Incarnate Ward and Washington State quarterback proved that he could ball in the FBS level. After throwing 6966 yards for 48 touchdowns with a 65.5 completion percentage in two seasons, he’s worthy of the NFL scouts’ attention. He also competed at a high level and averaged 296 yards against nine ranked opponents, win or lose, while throwing 300 plus yards against five of them. If he can play similarly against ACC opponents and get them to the postseason, he’s a potential steal in the draft if not in the first two rounds.

8) JAXSON DART – OLE MISS

The former USC transfer showed he can be viable. In a short time at USC with two other quarterbacks, he threw 1,353 yards and nine touchdowns for 61.4 completion percentage. In his first season with Ole Miss, he threw for 2,974, 20 touchdowns, and a 62.4 completion percentage while adding his run ability for the first time with 614 yards. Last season, he improved to 3,364 yards for 23 touchdowns, a 65.1 completion percentage, and added 391 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. Dart improved each season, and this upcoming season could potentially be his best with the existence of the 12-team playoff. If all pans out, so does his high draft chance.

7) GRAYSON MCCALL – NC STATE

In Grayson McCall’s three seasons between 2020 and 2022, he averaged 2,687 passing yards, and about 26 touchdowns while rushing for 17 touchdowns and throwing only eight interceptions. Unfortunately, his last season was his worst in his career throwing under 2,000 yards, only 10 touchdowns, threw two times the interception average in one season, rushing under 100 yards, and scoring just one rushing touchdown. Last offseason, he wanted to transfer but grades prevented him from that option. Now, he traveled across I-95 North for a fresh start and hopefully an opportunity to improve his draft stock while trying to carry NC State to the ACC title game and maybe more.

6) JALEN MILROE – ALABAMA

Jalen Milroe was under plenty of pressure in Tuscaloosa, but he came to form against Tennessee in the second half and made slow, positive progress. He’s proven to be a threat in the ground game and has a cannon arm to go along with it. However, his accuracy and decision-making must improve to influence scouts and analysts to consider him somewhere within the Top 5 of his position for next year’s draft. Hopefully, Kalen DeBoer can get him there.

5) CAM RISING – UTAH

He’s in my Top 5 because the man knows how to win games for his team. When he’s healthy, he’s a lethal force. Utah can’t get anywhere without him and need him badly in their annual year in the Big 12. He can run, throw, and put his team in winning position. However, his injury history, including his leg that kept him out for an entire 2023 season, could be a red flag. If he plays like his 2022 self for the entire upcoming season, he may have a say as one of the Top QBs in the NFL draft.

4) DILLON GABRIEL – OREGON

He can stack up passing yards, run (scored career-high 12 touchdowns last season), and win games anywhere he goes. He’s done it at UCF and Oklahoma. Now, he has a grand opportunity to not only do it at Oregon, but also lead them to the playoffs for the first time since the annual four-team playoff. When Gabriel’s healthy, expect around 3500 yards plus from him in one season. He must stay healthy and stay the course to put himself in the Top 2 rounds of the NFL Draft.

3) QUINN EWERS – TEXAS

After his first season, Quinn Ewers made sure to drop some weight and improve on his overall performance. Last season, he followed through with 22 touchdowns to six interceptions. He scored six more than his first season while keeping his interceptions the same from 2022. He showed poise under pressure and put his team in winning position multiple times, including the playoffs against Washington despite coming up short on the last play of the game. If he can stay healthy and progress further from last season, expect #3 to be off the board somewhere in the first round.

2) CARSON BECK – GEORGIA

This kid can play. He did really well in his first season throwing for nearly 4,000 yards while scoring 24 touchdowns to just six interceptions. He’s got a cannon. I watched his highlight when he threw an incompletion that almost ended up in the receiver’s hands. Guess how far? Around 80 yards from his throwing position. He should be one of the Top 2 quarterbacks to come off the board.

1) SHEDEUR SANDERS – COLORADO

He’s a phenomenal player and great with interviews. His performance despite the amount of sacks and hits he took for the last 10 games shows he has what it takes to play at the next level. However, he’ll be tested in the Big 12 with a new group of players for the second straight season with Colorado. If all goes well, he’s definitely the first quarterback off the board.
