BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

Most of my life was being surrounded by people and not having enough time for myself to actually get to know this awkward, yet very interesting person. It was even difficult to have that positive mindset when I don’t have an outlook in my life. After COVID and the loss of a few family members and friends, I was lost and more depressed than I have been for half of my life. When I thought I had people to rely on, it wasn’t the case more than half the time. I felt deserted.

Despite COVID being a curse, it was also a blessing. I was unemployed but I had enough finance along with unemployment to take a break from work and really look at myself in the mirror for the next year and a half. After getting to know myself more, I realized I felt happier and more independent. It also helped me go after what I want without feeling hindered because of other’s opinions or suggestions. I made plenty of changes on myself and my life, including knowing people who are worth being in my life while burning the bridge and/or separating myself from others.

I learned at the end of the day (or week), there’s always a shining light at the end of a dark, murky tunnel. I understood who I truly am as a person and know I can be fully independent while knowing I have real people to count on in my life. Thanks to Pat McAfee and Ted Lasso, I’m able to keep the positive vibes whether I’m alone or surrounded by others. We all need that as much as possible.
