Let’s forget about what happened last weekend with another quarterback injury like Joe Burrow, but let’s also praise a certain quarterback from East New York for his great performance. No, not Zach Wilson. New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito. He put on a stellar performance on the road, and mercilessly defeated Washington. The 49ers, Cowboys, Jaguars, and Bills won big while the Eagles, Lions, Dolphins, Texans, Rams, and Browns held on for the win. The NFL this season became the war of attrition for key positions. As of right now, no star quarterback is safe and backups, third stringers, and part-timers are getting some work in football for once. Let’s see who the next out of nowhere quarterback does well. Can we get a Luis Perez up under center, please? Thanks! Have a great Thanksgiving everyone, and despite the good, the bad, and the ugly of football, just be thankful that we have football and plenty of food to go along with it. Cheers!
THANKSGIVING DAY
PACKERS AT LIONS
9:30AM PT/12:30PM ET [FOX]

It was nice to see both Packers and Lions pull off comebacks and put their opposers hot seats on high last week. It does the team some good whether it’s rallying together or bouncing back after a struggle from the previous game. Now, they meet for the second time that either could be a great Thanksgiving game that even Lions fans can finally enjoy, or it turns into a one-sided affair for Detroit. At this point, we all know who the Lions are this season but we’re trying to figure out the Packers. They have a good defense that’s unfortunately coached by a coordinator who coached for the 0-16 Lions. Yes, that coordinator. The offense has plenty of up-and-coming young talent, but they’re hampered by key injuries at the running back position, including Aaron Jones. It’s possible the game will be close, but the Packers are still inexperienced on offense while the defense finds ways to allow plays during the game. The Lions should sweep the Packers for the second straight season for the first time since 2017 and 2018 and it could be their fifth straight win against their rival for the first time since the late 1940s and early 1950s.
MY PICK: LIONS
COMMANDERS AT COWBOYS
1:30PM PT/4:30PM ET [CBS]

I think we all know where this is going, so just assume my pick is Dallas and I can go over a quick explanation. The Commanders have their quarterback and a few other spots on offense, but there’s so much to be desired. They try their best but it’s not enough for what they’ve experienced thus far. Meanwhile, the Cowboys beat the teams that they’re supposed to beat. The offense goes through Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tony Pollard, and the offensive line. The defense is great at each level, but safety Daron Bland is becoming a standout defensive player that the secondary needed after Trevon Diggs went down weeks ago. I’m already assuming the Cowboys will win, but it’s up to the Commanders to make the game interesting. However, the biggest issue is Washington’s offensive line. It’s a major problem, and it gave their quarterback issues when trying to play his best ball. When they fail to give him time, his execution comes up short, and Dallas is capable of disrupting opportunities. This will be a long Thanksgiving game for Washington for sure.
MY PICK: COWBOYS
49ERS AT SEAHAWKS
5:20PM PT/8:20PM ET [NBC]

This will be the most anticipated matchup between two heated rivals of the NFC West. There’s nothing like the 49ers and the Seahawks battling each other on Thanksgiving to find out how both teams will fare moving forward. There isn’t much to explain because rivalries usually burn the statistics and wash it away. The 49ers are loaded in nearly every position possible but are unfortunately without Talanoa Hufanga for the season which leaves the safety position a tad vulnerable. It would mean that Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, Chase Young, Fred Warner, Dre Greenlaw, and so many more dudes must do their part to give the secondary some safety net to keep either Geno Smith or Drew Lock from carving up that backfield. Speaking of them, whoever’s the starter will work with a roster that’s slowly hampered in starting spots. Kenneth Walker, Geno Smith, and DK Metcalf are questionable. However, Pete Carroll has enough faith in Lock, Zach Charbonnet, Tyler Locket, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba to be good replacements on offense. But what about their defense? Are they ready for Brock Purdy and company this time? They had San Fran for a half in the playoffs but failed to finish. It feels like an eerily similar situation unless the defense finds ways to make him struggle, but Seattle has too much to deal with against an overly diverse offensive unit.
MY PICK: 49ERS
BLACK FRIDAY
DOLPHINS AT JETS
12PM PT/3PM ET [PRIME VIDEO ON BLACK FRIDAY]

I…I’m scared to watch another Prime Video football game. It’s not on Thursday, but God help me if I have to suffer through another borefest of a dang game. These Thursday games will be awesome because it’s on Thanksgiving. That’s my mulligan. But I see Prime Video football on any other day, you know dang well I’m already filled with goosebumps.
Anyway, Dolphins vs. Jets. No Aaron Rodgers, no Zach Wilson, no offensive line, and the skills position is left to rot. However, defense and special teams are at home and must play a huge part to keep the game close. Quarterback Tim Boyle’s the starter, but I already saw his TD/INT ratio record overall and there’s nothing good about it. Now, you’re thinking to yourself that the Dolphins should boatrace the Jets, right? Possible, but I can’t believe it. In all four of their road games and one neutral site game, they’re 2-3. Two wins against current losing teams (Chargers and Patriots) were by a touchdown or less. Their three losses were by teams with winning records (Bills, Eagles, and Chiefs). You would think they should blow them out, but it’s hard to believe when they’re on the road against the Jets’ great defense. Miami wins, but I feel there’s nothing left to the imagination with Prime Video being involved. Seriously…
