THURSDAY NIGHT PREVIEW

COMMANDERS AT BEARS – 5:15PM PT/8:15PM ET [PRIME VIDEO]

Thursday Night Football has turned weird since the Colts/Broncos game last week. I could say there’s hope for better entertainment, but it’s a one-win team versus a two-win team. Chicago’s offensively inept and but they realized that they run the football, albeit Justin Fields passed the ball well last week. Washington should be better, but they’re the second worst in turnovers and Carson Wentz is responsible for those issues when he becomes chaotic. Unless Washington attacks a bad Bears run defense and takes the ball away from Wentz for half of those plays, the Bears win at home.

MY PICK: BEARS

SUNDAY NIGHT PREVIEW

COWBOYS AT EAGLES – 5:20PM PT/8:20PM ET

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts evades a tackle by Dallas defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence in the first quarter of a game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020.

The NFL’s Game of the Week features a heated NFC East clash for the lead in the division. The Cowboys and Eagles thus far are playing hot and looking for more. The Cowboys’ loss of Dak Prescott closed any playoff conversation for 2022, but Cooper Rush (or Kush as some sports analysts call him) and the defense revived the team’s optimism and playoff conversations. The Eagles are off to their best start since 2004 (Super Bowl season). Adding James Bradberry (Giants) and A.J. Brown (Titans) turned coach Nick Sirianni’s team into a playoff and a Super Bowl contender, and Jalen Hurts’ performance came full circle as of right now. Philly has their biggest test against one of the best defenses in the league. The team will likely score about as low as last week’s game against Arizona, but they’ll find a way to defeat the Cowboys for the lead in the NFC East outright.

MY PICK: EAGLES

MONDAY NIGHT PREVIEW

BRONCOS AT CHARGERS – 5:15PM PT/8:15PM ET

I must assume that Broncos fans, Colts fans, and NFL fans alike are still traumatized after an abysmal Thursday Night performance between Denver and Indy, especially Denver. Then again, it’s more abysmal when SoFi Stadium is consistently filled with more non-Chargers and non-Rams fans, seriously! Anyway, the Broncos head to SoFi searching for an offensive identity and answers between Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett. The Chargers have improved, more or less, but injuries plague the roster and Brandon Staley’s overaggressive calls became a consistent issue. As long as Justin Herbert’s healthy, the team compete’s every game. This will be the most untrustworthy and unforgiving game to watch. The Broncos can’t figure out their offense or solve their redzone issues, while the Chargers fail to finish the game properly. As the great golfer Craig Stadler said, “Can you take the pressure of an imminent victory?” If anyone can right now, it’ll be the Chargers.
