BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

RAMS AT 49ERS – 5:15PM PT/8:15PM ET [ESPN]

While the Rams defeated the 49ers in the NFC championship game to advance and win the Super bowl, they still have a 6-game regular season losing streak against them. It could change but some of the defensive backs are banged up right now, despite having a healthy Aaron Donald, Bobby Wagner, and Jalen Ramsey. San Francisco doesn’t look all there right now. They have a roster built to challenge any NFL team, but the running back injuries, Jimmy Garoppolo’s inconsistency, and questionable play-calling by Kyle Shanahan could be the issue. Without a consistent run game, this likely leads to the 49ers’ downfall this season.

LOS ANGELES RAMS PREVIEW

The Rams bounced back from a season-opening loss with two straight wins, but they’re currently plagued by injuries. If this continues in the defensive back position, they could be vulnerable more often to the passing game. The offense is fine, but they may need more help from their running backs. Cam Akers did redeem himself these past two games with numbers climbing. If this continues, he helps Darrell Henderson and lessens the pressure off Matt Stafford. This will be key against the 49ers’ defense.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS PREVIEW

The 49ers defense should be one of the NFL’s best this season without a doubt. However, the offense faces many questions realize these issues are coming full circle and hopes for some improvement and bounce back somewhere. Kyle Shanahan must realize that the run game is currently the heart and soul of the team. He must put more faith in that position and this team should bounce back with ease.

THE MATCHUP

The Rams should have the advantage Monday night, but have they learned from the last six losses against San Fran? With San Francisco struggling offensively without the reliance of the run game, Los Angeles should have their way this time. Even with that type of belief, the 49ers have an elite defense that will challenge basically any offense in the league. They will keep the game close and have faith that the offense will get something done. All they need is better game management and faith in the run game.

MY PICK: 49ERS TOTAL POINTS: Under 45

QUICK NOTE:

If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted any NFL Sunday information, I had a very busy schedule these past few weeks and I was unable to have them written in time. It’s much harder filling out 14 games of info along with the Thursday and Monday primetime games and the college football information. However, I came up with a great idea that might make life easier. Starting next week, I’m clustering 3 NFL primetime games (Saturday’s in the near future) on one post and have my weekly Sunday picks included. I’m clustering the NFL information and hopefully it makes things easier for any of you reading my posts. For this week, you’ll have the Monday information and my Sunday picks before I begin those changes next week moving forward.
