BRACKET AND POWER RANKINGS

This week and last week were crazy. Plenty of blockbuster signings happened and it blew my mind. I tried keeping up with everything to this point, but this will put some teams into question for this upcoming season. But don’t assume anything yet. We still have the NFL Draft, more potential trades, and summer practices ahead that could affect injuries and off-the-field stuff. So stay tuned for more updates ahead.

NFC WEST

Allen Robinson signs with a stacked receiving core in Los Angeles.

RAMS – The Rams sign another receiver in former Bear Allen Robinson III. Stafford has an endless amount of options in the City of Angels, and this man must be on cloud nine.

49ERS – After Kerry Hyder was released from Seattle, he returned to the 49ers on a one-year deal. I’m happy to see his return, but it still hurts not having DJ Jones anymore.

CARDINALS – N/A

SEAHAWKS – Released Carlos Dunlap and Kerry Hyder. They’re letting go two defensive line players, but Hyder didn’t contribute much on the roster. While they may still consider a quarterback, Pete Carroll loves Geno Smith and wants him re-signed to the team.

NFC EAST

COWBOYS (TIED) – N/A

COMMANDERS (TIED) – N/A

EAGLES – Philly receives Zach Pascal, but how much production will we see from him alongside Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert with whatever they can get from Jalen Hurts in the passing game? They also re-sign Fletcher Cox to a one-year deal.

GIANTS – N/A

NFC NORTH

Za’Darius Smith stays in the division but heads wast of the division to Minnesota.

PACKERS – N/A

VIKINGS (TIED) – Za’Darius Smith signs with Minnesota instead of Baltimore. This is a big gain for Minnesota that needs upgrades on defense.

BEARS (TIED) – N/A

LIONS – N/A

NFC SOUTH

While Jameis Winston continues to stay in the NFC South and re-signs with New Orleans. Marcus Mariota, Winston’s counterpart and 2nd pick behind Winston from the same draft year, joins the division as a Falcon.

BUCCANEERS (TIED) – N/A

SAINTS (TIED) – Jameis Winston officially returns to New Orleans and has a chance to prove himself after signing a two-year deal. The Saints have a real shot at stealing the division from Brady and the Bucs, believe it or not. Will the loss of Terron Armstead affect their offensive line though?

PANTHERS – They considered trading for Baker Mayfield, but it seems like the Panthers aren’t interested in him now. Keep an eye out in the next few weeks.

FALCONS – Atlanta receives Marcus Mariota and could be their starting quarterback. We’ll see in the next few months. It’s still a rebuilding team, but the NFC South will be interesting to watch.

AFC WEST

Demarcus Robinson heads to Sin City to sign with division rival, Las Vegas Raiders and join Davante Adams.

CHARGERS – N/A

BRONCOS (TIED) – N/A

RAIDERS (TIED) – The Raiders sign another receiver in Demarcus Robinson from the Chiefs. Derek Carr will have more options alongside Davante Adams (as long as he’s happy), Hunter Renfrow, and Darren Waller.

CHIEFS (TIED) – Tyreek Hill is officially gone. Apparently, the contract extension between him and the organization stalled and signs with Miami. The Chiefs did sign former Packer receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling and have JuJu Smith-Schuster along for the ride. They also plan on drafting a receiver in the first round, so don’t panic KC. Look out for Alabama receiver Jameson Williams to be projected to Kansas City.

AFC EAST

Tyreek Hill peaces out from Kansas City and the trade leads him down to Miami.

BILLS (TIED) – N/A

DOLPHINS (TIED) – Miami signs former Saint offensive lineman Terron Armstead to a five-year deal. They also came away with a major trade in Tyreek Hill. Imagine the things Mike McDaniel has in store for him and Jaylen Waddle. Miami could see the playoffs in their upcoming season. It’s up to Tua to take the next step.

PATRIOTS – N/A

JETS – N/A

AFC NORTH

After a year out of football, Deshaun Watson waives his no-trade clause and gets traded to the Browns.

RAVENS – Za’Darius Smith chose to play for Minnesota and not sign with Baltimore. The Ravens should still be fine though.

BENGALS – The Bengals sign La’el Collins to go alongside Alex Cappa and Ted Karras. The rebuild will take time, but expect Joe to have a better line, pray they all stay healthy, and hopefully provide solid, consistent protection.

BROWNS (TIED) – Deshaun Watson out of nowhere chose Cleveland as his destination. The Browns were originally out of the running not too long ago. This could set the Browns up for a possible playoff run, but don’t believe the hype. Cleveland, to this day, is still the destination where quarterbacks careers and dreams end. Can Watson break the curse that Baker was close to doing? Don’t forget that Watson may still serve some suspensions at the start of the season.

STEELERS (TIED) – N/A

AFC SOUTH

After 14 years with Atlanta, Matt Ryan becomes an Indianapolis Colt.

COLTS – Indianapolis receives Matt Ryan in a trade. That’s a win and should make them potential division winners in the 2022-’23 season. What they need now is a couple of receivers to compliment Ryan’s passing and we may have a sleeper playoff team sneaking up on the AFC.

TITANS – N/A

JAGUARS – N/A

TEXANS – Houston officially rebuilds after Watson chose Cleveland and waived his no trade clause.
