With only three weeks left before bowl season, the Top 4 Teams and so on within the Top 25 are still being sorted out. But what about the divisional and conference standings across the nation? Who is where, which team has either won the division or has a spot in the conference title game, and who is still alive to win the division title and play in the conference championship? I put together the scenarios for teams in each conference that are still in contention for the division title and/or a spot in the conference championship. I did the best I could to organize this. Before you check out the teams left, here are the following that already clinched a spot in the conference championship: Houston (AAC), Georgia (SEC East), and Louisiana (Sun Belt West).
AAC

CINCINNATI (10-0; 6-0)
SMU (8-2; 4-2)
Cincinnati needs a win this weekend to lock up the second spot in the AAC championship this weekend. Sounds easy, but guess who they have left? SMU this weekend. If SMU wins, they need a Cincy loss at East Carolina next week to steal the second spot.
ACC

ATLANTIC
WAKE FOREST (9-1; 6-0)
CLEMSON (7-3; 5-2)
Wake Forest and Clemson meet this weekend to decide who likely takes the Atlantic division. If Wake wins, they win the division for the first time since 2006. Not only does Wake Forest have a huge road test in Death Valley, they also stay on the road at Boston College. Be aware that the Eagles play good offense and defense. If Wake loses to Clemson and Boston College while Clemson wins out, Clemson survives a horrible early season start to play in their seventh straight conference title game.
COASTAL
PITTSBURGH (8-2; 5-1)
VIRGINIA (6-4; 4-2)
Pittsburgh leads the Coastal, but hosts Virginia this weekend to decide who controls that division. If Pitt fails, Virginia controls the division…for now but must defeat Virginia Tech to win out.
BIG 12

OKLAHOMA (9-1; 6-1)
OKLAHOMA STATE (9-1; 6-1)
BAYLOR (8-2; 5-2)
IOWA STATE (6-4; 4-3)
Baylor’s upset over Oklahoma opened the door for them and Iowa State to potentially claim the second spot in the Big 12 championship, but so much must happen in the next two weeks. Oklahoma is in their home state for the last two weeks to host Iowa State and travel to Stillwater to play Oklahoma State. Defeating them clinches their spot in the Big 12 championship. Same with Oklahoma State hosting Oklahoma. They also play Texas Tech prior but it’s no cakewalk with these angry Red Raiders. Baylor needs another Sooner loss to be in contention and win out, but they must win their last two games against pesky Kansas State and angry Texas Tech. Speaking of Texas Tech, Iowa State lost to them but must root for the Red Raiders. Why? Because they are the Cyclones’ only hope of clinching their way to the Big 12 championship. Iowa State must upset Oklahoma and win out while hoping the angry Red Raiders upset both Oklahoma State and Baylor.
BIG TEN

EAST
OHIO STATE (9-1; 7-0)
MICHIGAN STATE (9-1; 6-1)
MICHIGAN (9-1; 6-1)
Ohio State has a target on their backs. What else is new? They play the state of Michigan for the last two weeks and are ready to own more real estate. Those wins clinch them the East division. Michigan State must defeat Ohio State to control their own destiny and win out. Michigan needs a Michigan State loss in the next two weeks and end their eight-game losing streak to Ohio State to win the East division.
WEST
WISCONSIN (7-3; 5-2)
IOWA (8-2; 5-2)
MINNESOTA (6-4; 4-3)
PURDUE (6-4; 4-3)
Wisconsin is undefeated against the Big Ten West and are two wins away from claiming it. Iowa’s loss to Wisconsin puts them behind in a head-to-head tiebreaker. They need a Wisconsin loss while winning out but Illinois and Nebraska won’t just hand them the win. Minnesota is behind Iowa due to a tiebreaker and needs two losses from the Hawkeyes while winning out, including an upset win over Wisconsin. Purdue needs a lot of help. They lost to Wisconsin and Minnesota but did win against Iowa. They must win out, need two losses by both Minnesota and Wisconsin and one more loss by Iowa this weekend to have a remote chance of stealing the West division.
C-USA

EAST
WESTERN KENTUCKY (6-4; 5-1)
MARSHALL (6-4; 4-2)
FAU (5-5; 3-3)
Western Kentucky is undefeated in the East division. If they defeat FAU and Marshall or Marshall loses this weekend and FAU loses next weekend, the Hilltoppers clinch the East. Marshall controls their own destiny and all they have to do is win out. FAU needs two Marshall losses while defeating Western Kentucky this weekend and win out for the East.
WEST
UTSA (10-0; 6-0)
UAB (7-3; 5-1)
The simplest scenario of all division and conference scenarios in the nation. UTSA wins the division with a win over UAB or UAB wins the last two games to win the division.
MAC

EAST
MIAMI (OH) (5-5; 4-2)
KENT STATE (5-5; 4-2)
OHIO (3-7; 3-3)
Miami (OH) and Kent State can win this weekend to set up a winner-take-all matchup in the East against each other next week. But here is 7-loss Ohio’s scenario to make their road to the MAC championship: they must win out and needs a loss by Miami (OH) and two losses by Kent State.
WEST
NORTHERN ILLINOIS (7-3; 5-1)
CENTRAL MICHIGAN (6-4; 4-2)
WESTERN MICHIGAN (6-4; 3-3)
Northern Illinois needs one more win to claim the West. Central Michigan must win out and need two losses by Northern Illinois. Western Michigan is in last place with four teams tied with a 3-3 division record but still have a chance to win the division. They must defeat Eastern Michigan this weekend, they need a loss by Northern Illinois this weekend and must defeat them next week, they need two losses by Central Michigan, and they need losses by Toledo and Ball State in one of the last two weeks to win the division.
MOUNTAIN WEST

MOUNTAIN
UTAH STATE (8-2; 5-1)
AIR FORCE (7-3; 4-2)
BOISE STATE (6-4; 4-2)
Utah State wins the last two games and they win the division. Air Force must win out and need two losses by Utah State to win the division. Boise State must win out and needs an Air Force and Utah State loss in one of the last two weeks.
WEST
SAN DIEGO STATE (9-1; 5-1)
FRESNO STATE (8-3; 5-2)
NEVADA (7-3; 4-2)
San Diego State must win out to win the division. Fresno State must win out and needs a San Diego State loss to win the division. Nevada must win out, needs two losses by San Diego State, and a loss by Fresno State to win the division.
PAC-12

NORTH
OREGON (9-1; 6-1)
OREGON STATE (6-4; 4-3)
Oregon must win one of the last two games to win the North. Oregon State must win while needing an Oregon loss this weekend in order to defeat the Ducks next weekend to steal the division.
SOUTH
UTAH (7-3; 6-1)
ARIZONA STATE (7-3; 5-2)
If Utah wins one of the last two weeks, they win the South. Arizona State must win out and need two losses by Utah to win the division.
SEC WEST

ALABAMA (9-1; 5-1)
OLE MISS (8-2; 4-2)
TEXAS A&M (7-3; 4-3)
AUBURN (6-4; 3-3)
ARKANSAS (7-3; 3-3)
Alabama wins one of the last two games to win the division. Ole Miss wins out and Alabama loses the last two for the Rebels to win the division. Texas A&M must win out, needs two losses by Alabama and Ole Miss and maybe one more loss by Mississippi State to have a shot at winning the division. Auburn must win out, needs an Alabama loss this weekend and Auburn must win the Iron Bowl next week, needs a loss by Ole Miss, a loss by Texas A&M, and maybe a loss by Mississippi State to win the division. Arkansas must defeat Alabama and win out, needs a loss by Auburn this week, needs Auburn to win the Iron Bowl, and needs two losses by Ole Miss to slingshot their way to an SEC West title. Mississippi State is complicated. They seem to be alive with just Ole Miss to play, but they lost to Alabama and Arkansas. Even if all West teams (except LSU) end at 5-3 in the division standings, Mississippi State by stats are still eliminated from a West title.
SUN BELT EAST

APPALACHIAN STATE (8-2; 5-1)
GEORGIA STATE (5-5; 4-2)
COASTAL CAROLINA (8-2; 4-2)
TROY (5-5; 3-3)
Appalachian State must win one of the last two games to win the division. Georgia State must win out and Appalachian State must lose the last two weeks for the Panthers to win the division. Coastal Carolina wins out, needs two losses by Appalachian State, and needs a loss by Georgia State for the Chanticleers win the division. Troy must beat Appalachian State this week and hope App State loses again next week, needs to beat Georgia State next week, and needs two more losses by Coastal Carolina so the Trojans can steal the East.
