USF (4-6) vs. #18 Memphis– lost 49-10

  • USF tried staying with Memphis, but they couldn’t. Memphis is too offensively talented and USF quarterback Jordan McCloud heavily struggled moving the ball all game long. The Bulls are eliminated from bowl-contention and this is the first time that both my underrated teams in one conference are eliminated from bowl-contention. USF travels to UCF, but it’s a very slim chance that they could upset their rivals.

TULSA (3-7) vs. Houston– lost 24-14

  • Tulsa competed with Houston and had the most yards in the game, but turnovers and a measley -1 total rushing yard ultimately hurt them overall. Their last game’s at East Carolina. Believe it or not, they’re likely underdogs but have a chance of scoring some points due to ECU’s poor defense.

ACC: 2-0, OVERALL: 16-6ACC UNDERRATED

VIRGINIA (7-3) vs. Liberty– won 55-27

  • Virginia scared me for a minute when they trailed 14-10. The offense went on a tear in the second half and finally the run game wasn’t led by quarterback Bryce Perkins. Next week, they host an all-Virginia Coastal division title game against their rival Virginia Tech. Virginia’s goal is not only win the division title for the first time since 1995 as co-champs with Florida State, but also make their first ACC championship title appearance, and end their 15-game losing streak against Virginia Tech.

WAKE FOREST (7-3) vs. Duke– won 39-27

  • Duke gave Wake Forest a run for their money all four quarters, but Wake Forest regained the lead late and kept it for the last eight minutes of the game. Quarterback Jamie Newman, along with the defense forcing two turnovers, played well to earn their eighth win of the season. They cap off their regular season at Syracuse in hopes of winning their ninth game of the season for the first time since 2007.

BIG TEN: 2-0, OVERALL: 19-3BIG TEN UNDERRATED

#13 MICHIGAN (8-2) at Indiana– won 39-14

  • Indiana gave Michigan a big scare, but the Wolverines shredded Indiana’s hopes and end their trap game issues with a 25-point separation. Michigan heads home to prepare for what may be Jim Harbaugh’s last chance of defeating #1 Ohio State and ending their hopes for a playoff bid. This would be a cataclysmic upset of the decade for Michigan to end the second decade of the 21st century.

#10 MINNESOTA (9-1) at Northwestern– won 38-22

  • Minnesota came out with an early lead. Then Northwestern got a safety to outscore Minnesota 16-7. But then Minnesota responded with their own run of 10-6 to avoid being upset by Northwestern and avoid a three-game losing streak in this meeting. Next week, Gameday goes to the Twin Cities for the finale where Minnesota hosts their big time rival, Wisconsin. Winning two-straight against Wisconsin and winning the division would not only be their biggest accomplishment of the week, but also of their season that will send them to their first Big Ten conference championship game in school history.

BIG 12: 2-0, OVERALL: 14-8BIG 12 UNDERRATED

KANSAS STATE (6-4) at Texas Tech– won 30-27

  • Kansas State’s defense held Texas Tech’s offense to three points in the first half. Then their offense and special teams powered this team to survive the rest of the way. Quarterback Skylar Thompson had a good game and helped this team bounce back from a close loss last week. They host Iowa State for the season finale and hopes to defeat their second Top 25 ranked team this season.

#22 IOWA STATE (6-4) vs. Kansas– won 41-31

  • Kansas and Iowa State dueled for three quarters before Iowa State outplayed them in the fourth quarter to hold off Kansas. Just like Kansas State and Texas Tech, it was a slow start before the offense took over in the second half. Iowa State heads to Manhattan, Kansas for the regular season finale against Kansas State. This is a battle for the eighth win of the season.

C-USA: 1-1, OVERALL: 10-12C-USA UNDERRATED

FIU (5-5) vs. Miami (FL)– won 30-24

  • That was a superb win by FIU overall. The best part was that FIU never turned the ball over while Miami did three times, so FIU should be sporting the turnover chain. That win makes FIU bowl eligible once again this season. Congrats to the defense for playing well for the majority of the game.

NORTH TEXAS (4-6) at Rice– lost 20-14

  • North Texas lost to one of the worst teams in college football and are now eliminated from bowl contention with their seventh loss. Their defense for once played better, but the offense struggled and quarterback Mason Fine played subpar with no touchdowns that game too. It wasn’t what I expected out of the Mean Green this year, but the defense, until this game, played bad and forced the offense to do more than expected.

MIAMI (OH) (6-4) at Akron– won 20-17

  • Miami (OH) escapes Akron without being upset and being the first team to lose to a winless team. It took running back Jaylon Bester and Tyre Shelton along with two field goals to keep Akron away from their first win. Hopefully they worked off their division champion hangover because they go to Muncie, Indiana for their regular season finale against Ball State.

WESTERN MICHIGAN (7-4)– BYE

MWC: 2-0, OVERALL: 16-6MWC UNDERRATED

NEVADA (6-4) at Fresno State– won 35-28

  • Against all odds at Fresno, Nevada manages to upset then 4-6 Fresno State to win their seventh game of the season. Nevada’s defense looks a little better lately and their offense also has a promising future behind quarterback Carson Strong, and I’m happy that he’s the guy. Now they host their season-finale in all black uniforms as UNLV comes into town. Nevada’s goal for that game: winning back the Fremont Cannon. Go Pack!

AIR FORCE (8-2) at New Mexico–  won 44-22

  • Air Force slowly but surely took advantage of New Mexico and ran all over them with no hesitation. Air Force is now one win away from their first 10-win season since 2016. They host Wyoming and that will be the game that will stand between them and their 10th win. Air Force will be ready for a physical battle.

PAC-12: 1-1, OVERALL: 15-7PAC-12 UNDERRATED

#6 OREGON (9-1) AT ARIZONA STATE (5-5)– Arizona State won 31-28

  • Oregon’s loss eliminates them from playoff contention while Arizona State becomes bowl-eligible before next week’s rivalry game. Arizona State’s quarterback Jayden Daniels dominated most of this game with some great passing plays. Oregon flat out struggled for three quarters before doing anything. They did get within three but fell short of a comeback. Oregon can still contend for the New Year’s Six Bowl, but must get past an improved Oregon State team and Utah/USC in the conference championship.

SEC: 1-1, OVERALL: 13-9SEC UNDERRATED

MISSOURI (5-5) at Tennessee– lost 24-20

  • Missouri came close to ending their four-game losing streak, but Tennessee wanted this game more to become bowl-eligible. Mizzou’s now 5-6 and it’s an unfortunate dip after what could’ve been a promising season despite being bowl-banned. They have Arkansas next week and they could salvage an even season record, but Arkansas will also be playing with pride.

#15 AUBURN (7-3) vs. Samford– won 52-0

  • Auburn wins their cooldown game and now are ready to host Alabama, and they are in desperate need of a convincing win to sneak back into the Top 4. Auburn’s defense will be ready for Alabama quarterback Mac Jones and company. Quarterback Bo Nix and the offense are the only question whether the Tigers can upset the Tide and end their flawless playoff appearance.

SUN BELT: 2-0, OVERALL: 17-5SUN BELT UNDERRATED

ARKANSAS STATE (6-4) vs. Georgia Southern– won 38-33

  • Arkansas State upsets Georgia Southern, but unfortunately loses out on winning the division after Louisiana won theirs this past weekend. They still bounced back with four-straight wins after suffering injuries in important positions early this season. They travel to South Alabama before awaiting a bowl location and their opponent.

#24 APPALACHIAN STATE (10-1) vs. Texas State– won 35-13

  • Georgia Southern’s loss to Arkansas State gives Appalachian State the East division title outright. Their only game now is at Troy. The Mountaineers wins their 10th game for the second straight season and their fourth in program history out of the five seasons, especially since joining the FBS Division six seasons ago.
